On Thurday (19/10/15), I met with my personal tutor, Steve Spurrier, with my almost completed Feasibility Report. However I had some queries and was very much over the word limit.
Steve gave me a few suggestions on cutting down the word count but keep the content:
I was having some issues with some elements of my report project and beginning to worry about the outcome of my report. So far my report did not seem to be effectively representing the amount of effort I had put into first-hand and primary research but instead focused seemed to just be secondary. I emailed Steve the day before to have a meeting so that I could go over each individual query I had and he agreed to have a chat at one the following day (today).
Steve helped me organise the following points:
Reminders for self:
This week we received our marks and feedback from our initial presentation. Overall I received a high mark that was one mark off a first.
I received 2.1 marks (60-70) in the following section:
Feedback Good use of images to tell the story and a common theme to show the project selection area. The presentation was very good and well structured and shows a good consideration of the research conducted so far. The delivery displayed a sound understanding of the subject area but there is an are to exploit in other conditions with similar needs. Areas to Address Work on your aims and objectives so that the objectives are specific to your aims. Consider the subject as a whole, and focus to the scale, so that there is a clear route to progress. In relation to this feedback:
The following tasks have been completed this following week:
Tasks to do today:
Today I had a second meeting with Steve to discuss where I'm at with my project. The meeting was from 9.15-9.30 and if we have no lecture on Tuesday's this will be my regular time slot. I confirmed this with an email
We discussed where I'm at and the difficulty I've been having contacting SENCO's for my research. I made a survey for them to answer however have had no luck getting in contact with them. Steve said if I past on the survey to him he would pass it on to his wife who is a SENCO so she could complete it and if it were appropriate share to other SENCO members. I have since emailed him the link to the survey. Steve also stressed the importance of Harvard Referencing as the reports will be run through a system to detect plagurism. I will go back and check to see that all my referencing on quotes and the bibliography are properly credited. For next week I will continue with my report writing, proof reading and referencing throughout. Since my previous post I made last Tuesday I have been going full steam ahead on the Feasibility Report writing. I have:
This morning, before I have to catch my train for my afternoon lecture I will:
I will continue to keep up to date on my report writing. I just want to firm up some of my Primary research so that my report will be filled with different sources of information, including personal. |
