1. Product Brief / Background
The Design and Development of an innovative product or products based on one or more of the 3 key areas of focus for urban cycling today. Safety, Security, Storage (3S)
Today there are more people choosing to commute to work either fully or partially by bicycle due to the many social, economic and environmental advantages.
Bike messengers/couriers are also increasing in many cities worldwide partly due to the cost effectiveness and efficiency compared to power-driven vehicles and traditional delivery methods.
Urban/city cycling has increased to where there is now a greater need for smart, effective solutions for the three most common issues relating to city cycling. Issues relating to Safety on the roads and on the bike, Security of the bike and of the cargo being transported and Storage of the cargo during transportation and the storage of the bike itself.

Assessment details –
Part 1 (08-02-16):
Assessed PowerPoint Presentation demonstrating Philosophy, users, selected stakeholder groups & Concept Description and to including your individual Project Brief. Interim In class presentation
Part 2 (25-04-16):
You will submit all project work including sketches, extensive CAD, technical and manufacturing report, poster etc. at the time of your Final Concept PowerPoint Presentation. Time and date to be allocated.
You will be required to submit an electronic copy of your PowerPoint’s at the time of your allocated presentation time slots.
You will be required to give a minimum of two separate assessed presentations of your project. Delivered in Part 1 & Part 2
