Dear Ciara
Thank you for your email.
We produce factsheets with regards to all the different methods of communication and using comminucation support via our website here.
You may want to explore some assistive equipment such as amplifiers for conversation/television/telephone etc. They are designed to enhance the clarity and volume and try to reduce any background noise. Depending on the level of the persons hearing loss they can be beneficial even without her hearing aids.
You may want to read more about the equipment available within our factsheets and leaflets here. If you would any further advice specifically about the equipment you can contact our equipment team on:
Telephone: 03330 144 525
Textphone: 03330 144 530
Emails: [email protected]
Just to make you aware though our information is produced with adults in mind so might not directly apply to the research you are doing but hopefully some information in there will be useful.
If you require further information we would encourage you to get in touch with organisations such as:
Nation Deaf Childrens Society
Sense
You can connect with people who have hearing loss or tinnitus by joining our online forums
